4 Mile Snowshoe Race
A Fundraising Event
to benefit the Mt. Washington
Valley Ski Touring Foundation

  Photos from 2016 Event

This Snowshoe Scramble race is a Granite State Snowshoe Series Event to be held in Whitaker Woods, the intown trail network maintained by the Mt. Washington Valley Ski Touring Foundation located in North Conway Village. This 4-mile race course consists of groomed trails and twisty singletrack.

The race is on. The firsthand report of conditions as of Thursday mid day from Kevin Tilton, race director ..." Just ran the course at lunch. Despite the rain and warm temps the course is firm. A nice rail has developed on the singletrack sections. Be careful not to fall off or you'll sink into up to a foot of snow! See everyone Saturday!" Grooming will resume today once temperatures drop and snow dries out and freezes.

This exciting, fast-growing activity will make you fitter and faster than you ever thought possible. Come join us as a participant, or a spectator, at this scenic intown location at the northern edge of North Conway Village. Bagels, coffee and soup provided by Big Dave's Deli will be served following the event.

6th Annual Snowshoe Scramble --
We were excited by the snow falling for the race but it did make travel difficult which reduced the entries from the previous year to seventy-seven.

Jim Johnson of Six03 Team Endurance finished first with a time of 0:26:29.
Leslie O'Dell of the same Six03 Team Endurance was the first woman to finish again this year with a time of 0:32:19 and 14th place overall.

Post race bagels and beverages supplied by Big Dave's Deli and prizes donated by EMS, Ragged Mountain Equipment, and McKaella's Sweets
